Senate blue ribbon panel to probe alleged corruption in PCSO

(Eagle News)–The Senate blue ribbon committee will probe what President Rodrigo Duterte said was the “massive corruption” in the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office. Blue ribbon panel chair Richard Gordon said the probe would take place late next week. He said this was after a probe into the allegations of conflict of interest against Health Secretary Francisco Duque III. LTFRB orders reshuffle of all cashiers in central office, lifestyle check on all regional directors

DFA: 19 Filipino sailors held in Mexico allegedly over illegal drugs

(Eagle News)–Nineteen Filipino seafarers are being held in Mexico allegedly over illegal drugs, the Department of Foreign Affairs said on Tuesday, July 30. In a statement, the DFA said the 19 were part of the 22 crewmen of the Cypriot-flagged vessel UBC Savannah that was detained  on July 27.
