PHIVOLCS raised Mayon Volcano to Alert Level 3 as it continues to register volcanic activity. PHIVOLCS added that they recorded a rockfall event in the said volcano. Oil companies implemented price rollback

70 centavos per liter of diesel and 65 centavos per liter of kerosene were implemented by Shell, Petron, Phoenix and Seaoil. 25 centavos per liter of gasoline was implemented by Shell while Seaoil and Petron implemented a 30 centavos rollback per liter of gasoline. PTT Philippines implemented a 75 centavos rollback per liter of kerosene and 25 centavos per liter of gasoline. Other oil companies are expected to follow.

Liberia president sacks 10 officials told to return to fight Ebola

(Reuters) – Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sacked 10 senior officials because they failed to heed a warning to return from overseas travel to help the government’s fight against an Ebola epidemic that has killed at least 1,100 Liberians. Air France pilots start week-long strike

(Reuters) — Air France pilots began a one-week strike over company plans to cut costs to recapture market share from budget airlines on Monday (September 15). Air France said on its web site it expected to operate 48 percent of its flights on Monday, but “last minute disturbances are not excluded”.
