Senate asks Iqbal to reveal true identity

As the Senate Committee on Local Government continues with its investigation regarding the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL), the Senate asked Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) chief negotiator Mohagher Iqbal to reveal his true identity with the latter refusing, saying that as a member of rebel group, he has a right to use an alias for his protection.

SWS Survey: Binay’s rating dips

The public satisfaction rating of Vice President Jejomar Binay Sr. dips in the first quarter of 2015. According to the latest survey of the Social Weather Stations (SWS), from +44 last December, Binay’s ratings dropped to +31. This is the fourth time that Binay’s ratings have dipped. Meanwhile, Senate President Franklin Drilon’s ratings have surged to a +35 and House Speaker Feliciano Belmonte, Jr. got a moderate or +12 rating.

Solar panels for public schools

Senator Sonny Angara proposed the installation of solar panels for every public schools that still lacks electrical supply. Said proposed law will oblige the Department of Education and Department of Energy to install solar panels that will provide much needed electricity for the use of equipment like computers that will help students in their lessons.

Mostly fair weather prevails on Friday

The weather bureau announced on its Friday advisory that the eastern section of Luzon and Visayas will continue to experience the effects of the easterlies. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that these easterlies will bring good weather to the said areas. Citizens’ group counters taxi selfies

The group Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption is against the proposal of the Philippine National Police (PNP) which encouraged commuters to take selfies with taxi drivers to minimize taxi-related crimes, saying that taxi drivers have the right to refuse having their photo taken.
