Bomb threat at Culiat High School prompts suspension of morning classes

(Eagle News)  — A bomb threat at the Culiat High School along Tandang Sora, in Quezon City early Wednesday morning prompted school officials to suspend classes as members of the Quezon City Police check each of the rooms in the school.

Hundreds of students spilled to the streets around 7 a.m. as the school was evacuated for the inspection.

A nearby school, the Asia School of Arts and Sciences (ASAS), also suspended their classes as it was just a few meters away from the Culiat High School.

The bomb threat at Culiat High School came about as the QCPD conducted a drug raid at the Muslim Compound in Culiat, which was just a few blocks away from the school.

After the inspection done by the QCPD at the Culiat High School, it declared that the threat was a hoax.  No bombs were found in the area.

Classes at the nearby New Era Elementary School, New Era High School, and New Era University were also suspended following the police raid at the adjacent Muslim compound.
