“Beauty and the Beast” to continue box office domination

(Reuters) — “Beauty and the Beast” is poised for its third North American box office win from Friday (March 31) through Sunday (April 02). Set to take in an estimated 47 million dollars, according to BoxOfficePro, the film has already earned more than 744 million dollars worldwide.

Coming in at number two is expected to be the animated film, “The Boss Baby.” Featuring the vocal work of Alec Baldwin, the film follows a suit-wearing baby who up-ends a family with his arrival. It’s predicted to take in 32 million dollars in its opening weekend.

Also opening will be “Ghost in the Shell,” starring Scarlett Johansson as a cyber-enhanced human devoted to protecting the world from evil. It’s expected to take in 28 million dollars.

Holding over from previous weeks, “Saban’s Power Rangers” should add another 18 million to its global earnings of 65 million dollars; and “Kong: Skull Island” is predicted to add another 8 million to its international sales of 395 million dollars.
