(Eagle News) – Angat dam’s water level continued to go down below the 160-meter critical level with the level recorded at 158.75 meters as of Monday morning, July 15, according to PAGASA’s dam monitoring.

The dam water level decreased by 40 centimeters compared to Sunday morning’s level at 159.15.

There were not enough rains in Bulacan the past few days which contributed to the declining water level there.

In contrast, the La Mesa dam’s water level went up by 30 centimeters as of 6 a.m. Monday, July 15, with a water level of 72.56 meters compared to Sunday morning’s 72.26 meters.

Occasional heavy rains in Metro Manila benefited La Mesa dam which is where water concessionaire Manila Water Company gets its water to supply the water needs of Metro Manila’s east zone, as well as of the cities and municipalities of Rizal province.

Another water concessionaire, Maynilad, sources more than 90 percent of its raw water supply requirement from Angat Dam.
