Aguirre: 6 witnesses ready for House probe vs. De Lima

(Eagle News)– Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II said on Wednesday that they already assembled witnesses, composed of New Bilibid Prison guards and inmates to testify against Senator Leila de Lima and former Justice Undersecretary Francisco Baraan III for their alleged connection to narcotics trade inside New Bilibid Prison.

 

Four to six witnesses are being prepared by Department of Justice.

 

“It is proceeding (gathering of evidence against De Lima, Baraan) very good. There are several witnesses who are already executing their sworn statements as of now,”Aguirre said.
Aguirre also pointed that the main purpose of their probe is to know why the narco trade boomed inside NBP.
“We are going to file the necessary charges,” he added.
Both Baraan and De Lima denied all allegations thrown to them by no other that President Rodrigo Duterte.
On Thursday, President Duterte released his promised drug matrix which illustrates the connection of De Lima and Baraan to the proliferation of illegal drugs in NBP.
