Advincula now out of police custody, says PNP spokesperson

Peter Joemel Advincula who claims to be the “Bikoy” in a series of videos linking members of President Rodrigo Duterte’s family to illegal drug trade, makes an appearance at the Integrated Bar of the Philippines national headquarters on Monday, May 6, 2019.

(Eagle News) – The Philippine National Police announced on Tuesday, June 25, that Peter Joemel Advincula is no longer in its custody.

Advincula first came out to say that he was the narrator, known as the hooded “Bikoy,” in the controversial “Ang Totoong Narcolist” videos.

PNP Spokesperson Police Colonel Bernard Banac said that Advincula is now “free” and is “on his own.

“Si Mr. Advincula is free. He is out and not in the custody ng PNP,” he said.

Banac said that there were also no reports of further threats against his life.

Sa ngayon wala naman ding follow-up siya na kahilingan ng personal protection niya. Ang ating assumption ay he’s on his own at he’s doing good,” he said.

Banac said that the PNP is no longer providing any security for Advincula.

The threats to his life may have subsided, he said.

“It may be his first assumption that there are threats to his life but it is also likely that these have already subsided. For now, we are not giving him any security,” he explained.

Advincula allegedly submitted information to back up his claim that Senator Antonio Trillanes IV and several Liberal Party members were behind the “Ang Totoong Narcolist” series of videos against President Rodrigo Duterte and some members of his family.

But the PNP said that these alleged pieces of evidence were still being subjected to validation.
