(Eagle News)–Typhoon “Tisoy” has further weakened and is now off the coast of Occidental Mindoro.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said as of 4 p.m., the center of the typhoon was estimated at 110 km northwest of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro or 135 km North of Coron, Palawan, packing maximum sustained winds of 130 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 200 kph.
It is moving west at 25 kph.
Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro including Lubang Island, and Batangas are under Signal No. 3, while Romblon, Camarines Norte, Metro Manila, Bulacan, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Rizal, Quezon including Polillo Islands, Zambales, Marinduque, Cavite, and Laguna, northern portion of Camarines Sur ( Cabugao, Libmanan, Pamplona, Pasacao, Sipocot, Lupi, Ragay, Del Gallego), southern Nueva Ecija(Cabanatuan City, Cabiao, Gabaldon, Gapan City, General Tinio, Jaen, Laur, Palayan City, Peñaranda, San Antonio, San Isidro, San Leonardo, Santa Rosa, Aliaga, Licab, Zaragoza), southern Aurora (Dipaculao, Maria Aurora, Baler, San Luis, Dingalan), and Calamian Islands (Coron, Busuanga, Culion, Linapacan) are under Signal No. 2.
Signal No. 1 is hoisted over the southern portion of Quirino (Nagtipunan), rest of Aurora, northern portion of Palawan (El Nido, Taytay, Araceli, Dumaran), rest of Camarines Sur, Cuyo Islands (Cuyo, Magsaysay, Agutaya), Pangasinan, southern portion of Nueva Vizcaya(Alfonso Castaneda, Aritao, Dupax Del Norte, Dupax Del Sur, Kasibu, Santa Fe), Burias Island, and rest of Nueva Ecija, Northen Aklan (Malay, Buruanga, Nabas, Ibajay) and northern Antique (Caluya, Libertad, Pandan).
PAGASA said between late afternoon today and tomorrow morning, frequent to continuous heavy (isolated intense rains) are expected over Quezon and Rizal.
Occasional to frequent heavy rains are forecast over Mindoro Provinces, Metro Manila, Central Luzon, rest of CALABARZON, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Marinduque, and Romblon, while intermittent heavy rains are expected over Calamian Islands.
A storm surge of up to 3 meters is forecast over several coastal areas in Marinduque, Mindoro Provinces, Romblon, Cavite, and Batangas.
Sea travel is risky, especially for small seacrafts, over the seaboards of areas under storm signals, the seaboards of Northern Luzon and Visayas, the western seaboard of Palawan, and the northern and eastern seaboards of Mindanao due to rough sea conditions.
Gusty conditions may also be experienced in areas in Northern Luzon especially in the coastal and mountainous zones due to the Northeast Monsoon.
