“Bualoi” spotted off extreme N. Luzon; typhoon still outside PAR

(Eagle News)–The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration continues to monitor Typhoon “Bualoi,” which was spotted off extreme Northern Luzon but is still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

PAGASA said “Bualoi” was located 2120 kilometers east northeast of the northern island group as of 3 a.m., packing maximum sustained winds of 165 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 205 kph.

The weather bureau said  Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region and Cagayan Valley will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, but  due to the northeasterly surface windflow.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms, PAGASA said.

Flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms are also possible.

Extreme Northern Luzon will have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters, while Visayas and the rest of Luzon and Mindanao will have  light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters, PAGASA said.
