(Eagle News) – Expect cloudy skies and light to moderate heavy rains brought about the the Southwest Monsoon or “Habagat” affecting only the western sections of Luzon and Visayas today, Thursday, June 27, according to the country’s weather bureau, PAGASA.
There is no more tropical depression inside the Philipppine Area of Responsibilitya after “Dodong” left on Wednesday night, June 26.
Because of this only occasional heavy rains are expected over Luzon and Visayas, particularly the western section, including Metro Manila.
There could also be occasional heavy rains over Pangasinan , Cavite, western Batangas, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Occidental Mindoro, Northern Palawan including Cuyo and Calamian islands, Antique and western Aklan, PAGASA said in its latest weather advisory.
“The public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to continue monitoring for updates to be incorporated in the public weather forecast at 4:00 PM today and 4:00 AM tomorrow,” its advisory said.
Earlier, the National Water Resources Board had advised the public to conserve water and hope for heavy rains particularly on Angat Dam as its water level continued to go below its critical level of 160 meters.
So far, heavy rains in Luzon failed to stop Angat Dam’s water level from further declining. As of Thursday, June 27, 6 a.m., the water level in Angat Dam was recorded at an alarming 158.15 meters, down from Wednesday’s 158.40 meters.
