(Eagle News) — The first day of the state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping has been generally peaceful, according to National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar.
Eleazar said that as of now no reports of any untoward incidents had been reported.
Although there was a series of rallies on Tuesday, Nov. 21, Eleazar said the demonstrations were held without any violent incidents happening.
He however clarified that there were no rallies and protest actions allowed along the roads and in the vicinity of venues that will be used by the visiting Chinese leader.
The Chinese president left the country around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, after a successful 2-day state visit.
