(Eagle News) — The head of the Manila Police District’s Traffic Enforcement Unit and another policeman have been relieved from their posts.
Supt. Lucile Faycho and P02 Joseph Buan were sacked by Chief Supt. Joel Coronel, MPD director, upon orders from Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada.
The order came after Buan was arrested by members of the Philippine National Police’s Counter-intelligence Task Force in an entrapment operation on July 28.
The police said they discovered that Buan was collecting P500 to P2000 from drivers stopping in illegal terminals in Lawton for a time already.
Faycho was relieved by virtue of command responsibility, Coronel said.
Police have yet to name Faycho’s replacement.
