2 LPAs may develop into tropical cyclones over the weekend, says PAGASA

(Eagle News) — The state’s weather bureau on Friday announced that two low pressure areas (LPAs) that are now inside the country could develop into tropical cyclones over the weekend.

On its announcement posted in its website at 3:00 a.m. on Friday, June 1, the two Low Pressure Areas (LPAs) were estimated based on all available data at 335km West Southwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan (9.0N, 115.8E) and at 900km East Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur(5.7N, 134.0E) respectively.

Because of this, cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms were likely to be experienced in Palawan.

While cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms will be experienced in Mindanao and Eastern and Western Visayas.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers will be felt in Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
