(Eagle News)– Two children died while 14 others were hurt in a car accident on Monday (October 31) along the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR) Tollway in Malvar, Batangas.
Janelle Anne Dalanon (9) and Jaylord Lance Dalanon (12) were declared dead on arrival at the Mary Mediatrix Medical Center in Lipa, Batangas.
The 14 others hurt, including a baby and five other minors, were also rushed to the hospital in Lipa.
The victims, all kin, were aboard a Mitsubishi L300 M driven by Joseph Fernando.
Preliminary investigation showed that while driving northbound at km. 73 at Barangay San Juan, the driver swerved and lost control of the steering wheel, causing the van to whirl and fall into an ditch.
Fernando was reportedly drunk.
