2 alleged Abu Sayyaf members nabbed in QC, Manila

(Eagle News)–The National Bureau of Investigation has arrested two alleged members of the Abu Sayyaf Group in separate operations in Quezon City and Manila.

The NBI identified the suspects as Anwar Saburul Morotoh and Ismael Maomar Timbao, allegedly also  behind the kidnapping of six members of the Jehovah’s Witness group in 2002, and the beheading of two of them.

NBI Counterterrorism Division head Raoul Manguerra said Anwar was the nephew of killed ASG leader Isnilon Hapilon, and Ismael, a close associate of the deceased leader.

The two had allegedly planned to bomb Metro Manila prior to their arrest.

The two are the 12th and 13th members of the Abu Sayyaf to be arrested, authorities said. Moira Encina
