Watch: Typhoon Ompong’s wrath felt in Apayao province




 

(Eagle News) — This video taken by Eagle News Service correspondent Rowena Calaramo in Apayao shows the wrath of typhoon Ompong (international name Mangkhut) early Saturday morning, at 5:53 a.m., September 15, 2018 as PAGASA, the country’s weather bureau, forecast that Ompong was barreling towards Ilocos Norte and Apayao after making landfall in Baggao, Cagayan.

The video was taken in Brgy. San Antonio, Sta. Marcela, Apayao province as typhoon Ompong’s catastrophic winds whipped the province and nearby areas.




Two hours later, another video taken by Calaramo showed how Ompong’s howling winds shook trees in the area.

As of 7 a.m., today PAGASA said the eye of typhoon Ompong was located based on all available data in the vicinity of Kabugao, Apayao (18.0 °N, 121.1 °E ).
