Lionel Messi scored 2 goals and assisted on one as the Argentinian forward led La Liga leaders Barcelona to a 3-0 demolition of English side Chelsea, and advance to the CL quarterfinals with a 4-1 aggregate victory at the Nou Camp in Barcelona.

Messi also became the second player to register 100 Champions League goals.

Goal number 99 came early at the 3rd minute of the match.

He then assisted Ousmane Dembélé for his first Barcelona goal.

The Argentinian striker then scored goal number 100 at the 63rd minute to complete the 3-0 win for the Catalan side.

Barcelona will join fellow Spanish clubs Real Madrid and Sevilla in the CL quarterfinals.

In Istanbul, Jupp Heynckes became the first manager to win 11 straight Champions League games after his Bayern Munich side steamrolled Besiktas with a 3-1 away victory to advance to the CL quarterfinals at the Vodafone Arena.

Despite having a 5-0 aggregate lead, the Bundesliga leaders still piled further misery over Besiktas after Thiago Alcantaro scored the opening goal at the 18th minute.

The Turkish side then committed a blunder after Gönül scored an own goal to gift the German club a 2-0 lead.

Besiktas pulled one back with a Vagner Love goal at the 59th minute but Sandro Wagner added a late 84th minute goal for Bayern to complete the 8-1 aggregate romp.

Barcelona and Bayern Munich will join Real Madrid, Sevilla, Liverpool, Manchester City, Juventus and Roma in the CL quarterfinals which begins on April 3.

Quarterfinals fixtures and matchups will be determined in a draw in Nyon, Switzerland on Friday March 16.
