(Eagle News) – President Rodrigo Duterte’s net trust rating increased by five points this third quarter, with a +62 trust rating which is classified as “very good,” according to the latest Social Weather Survey.

Last June, Duterte had a +57 net trust rating which is also classified as “very good,” the SWS said.

“In the nine SWS surveys following his inauguration as President, from September 2016 to September 2018, Duterte’s net trust rating was excellent in five and very good in four,” the latest SWS report said.

-Highest average net trust among PHL presidents-

“This gives an average net trust rating of very good +68 so far during his presidency,” it explained.

This means Duterte had the highest net trust ratings among Philippine presidents surveyed during their incumbency, according to the SWS.

The late president Corazon Aquino “obtained an average net trust of good +33,” while former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo “obtained a moderate +27 in February 2004,” SWS said.

Former president Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, on the other hand, got an “average net trust of very good +59 from September 2011 to June 2016.”

The trust ratings of Fidel Ramos and Joseph Estrada were not surveyed during their presidency, according to the SWS.

-74% of adult Filipinos have “much trust” in Duterte – SWS –

In the SWS Third Quarter 2018 survey, 74 percent of adult Filipinos still have “much trust” for Duterte, 14 percent were undecided, while 12 percent had “little trust” for the 73 year old Philippine leader.

The survey was conducted from Sept. 15 to 23.

-Duterte trust ratings increase in NCR, Luzon-

The SWS said that the five point increase in the President’s over-all net trust rating from June 2018 to September 2018 “was due to increases in Metro Manila and Balance Luzon, combined with steady scores in the Visayas and Mindanao.”

In fact, the net trust in Duterte “rose by one grade from good to very good in Metro Manila, up by 9 points from +42 (61% satisfied, 19% dissatisfied) in June 2018 to +51 (66% satisfied, 15% dissatisfied) in September 2018.”

His trust rating in Balance Luzon also stayed “very good” up by 10 points from +50 in June to +60 in September.

It stayed at a “good” +49 in the Visayas from June to September. In Mindanao, Duterte’s net trust ratings stayed “excellent” hardly moving from +88 in June to +86 in September.

President Duterte also got a “very good net trust across educational levels,” consistent among elementary graduates, non-elementary graduates, high school graduates and college graduates, according to the SWS.

The SWS’ third quarter survey used face-to-face interviews of 1,500 adults (18 years old and above) nationwide.

The exact question used in the survey was as follows: “Maaari po bang sabihin ninyo kung ang pagtitiwala ninyo kay RODY DUTERTE ay Napakalaki, Medyo malaki, Hindi tiyak kung malaki o maliit, Medyo maliit, Napakaliit, o Wala pa kayong narinig o nabasa kahit na kailan tungkol kay RODY DUTERTE?”
