Sotto bans conduct of mass, entry of Trillanes supporters in Senate premises over the weekend

(Eagle News) –Senate President Tito Sotto on Friday, Sept. 7, banned the conduct of a mass and the entry of supporters of Senator Antonio Trillanes IV in the Senate premises over the weekend.

“There is a church nearby. Senate is closed on weekends,” Sotto said.

Besides, according to Sotto, “only staff of senators are allowed.”

He added they had to turn off the air-conditioning units “at certain times and on weekends because (they) will bog down if (we) don’t.”

“We are just accommodating Senator Trillanes. I hope his supporters will not abuse our patience,” Sotto said.

“I was expecting them to help me preserve the integrity and the sanctity of the institution and not abuse the hospitality of the Senate leadership,” he added.
