Sacked immigration officials to face criminal complaints – Malacañang

QUEZON City, Philippines – Malacañang assured that the two officials of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) – Deputy Commissioners Al Argosino and Michael Robles – will face criminal complaints because of their alleged acceptance of bribe money from gambling lord Jack Lam.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) already formed an investigating team as per the order of President Rodrigo Duterte.

President Rodrigo Duterte himself fired the two officials for the unlawful conduct. Even before he left Singapore Friday night, he announced that he would be firing two ranking government officials.

But the two Immigration officials on Saturday said they have already offered to resign from their posts.

“Now that both cases have already been filed, it is time for the truth to prevail. To spare the Honorable President from the troubles brought about by the false allegation hurled by Mr. Wally Sombero, we are tendering our resignation effective immediately,” they said.
