A policeman was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Taguig on Wednesday, Aug. 15.

Police said P01 Jeffrey Amador, who was assigned at PCP1 until he was relieved, was nabbed by operatives of the Southern Police District drug unit after his own wife Michelle reported his activities.

Michelle said her husband would hurt her every time she called him out for his illegal activities.

Seized from the suspect were five sachets of suspected shabu and a 45 cal. pistol.

“Iyan ba tinuro sa inyo, ha?!! Paano ka nag-aral? Apat na taon o sa computer lang?!! Yan ba tinuro sa inyo, bumatak??” Philippine National Police Chief Oscar Albayalde angrily told the suspect, who he said was suspended because he went AWOL.

According to Albayalde, the suspect was “notorious,” and had started with his activities, based on information from his wife, since he was a high school student.

“Actually, nirefer kasi siya sa atin ng (National Bureau of Investigation) dun sa violence against women and children. And from there, nabanggit ng kaniyang asawa na involved sa droga, pati na rin may kausap siya na iba na posibleng nagtutulak,” National Capital Region Police Office director Guillermo Eleazar said.

Amador is facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, a complaint for violation of the law against violence against women and children, and for illegal possession of firearms.

Albayalde has also called for Amador’s batchmates so they could be subjected to a background investigation and drug test.

“It’s very frustrating nga, ang very disappointing…Kaya ngayon binago natin yung pagbabackground investigation sa mga pulis..Usually kasi pag mga ganyan, magkakaibigan yan, so we will verify all his batchmates,” he said.
