President Duterte meets Qatar’s deputy PM in Malacañang

(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday, Aug. 16, met with Qatar Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani on Wednesday night.

There are so far no details about the meeting, which took place in Malacanang.

A picture released by the Palace showed, however, that apart from Duterte, Special Assistant to the President Bong Go, Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III, Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana and Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano, among others, attended the meeting.

The Palace said Qatar’s Emir Shiekh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani is slated to visit the Philippines this year.

Qatar, which the President visited last year, is home to over 200,000 Filipinos.
