Pnoy Quotes Bible Verses in Philippine Arena Event

In an unexpected turn, President Aquino used The Bible to win over the 
55,000 Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) members during the inauguration of the Philippine 
Arena today in Bulacan.

There was heavy and cheers applause in the audience as Aquino quoted the 
Bible passages John 13:34-35 and Matthew 25:40 during his ten-minute speech. 
He also offered his congratulations to the religious group, which is celebrating its
centennial anniversary next Sunday.

“Nagsisilbi po kayong (INC) tulay upang mapalalim pa ang pananampalataya ng inyong mga kasapi, 
at maigting ninyong ginagabayan ang buhay ispiritwal ng napakarami nating kababayan,” Aquino said.
Kongkretong patunay nga po ang paglulunsad ng Ciudad de Victoria sa diwa ng pagkakaisang 
nangingibabaw sa Iglesia ni Cristo.”

The Philippine Arena is part of Ciudad de Victoria (City of Victory) complex estimated to be about 130 hectares. Construction of the arena began on August 17, 2011 and ended last May 30, 2014. The president was one of the many government officials who attended the celebration today.
