PHL now has 3 golds, 10 bronzes in Asian Games after 2-gold medal haul in women’s golf

(Eagle New)—The Philippines now has three golds in the 2018 Asian Games, after the win by the Philippine women’s golf team led by 17-year old Philippine bet Yuka Saso who also won another gold for the individual competitions on Sunday, August 26.

The two golds – one by the Philippine women’s golf team composed of Saso, Bianca Pagdanganan and Lois Kaye Go; and the other gold won by Saso in the individual event – put the Philippines on the 16th place in the over-all medal tally at the 18th Asian Games in Indonesia.

Pagdanganan also won a bronze in the individual golf competition raising the Philippines medal haul to three golds and 10 bronzes – or 13 medals in all.

The two golds from golf by the Philippine women’s golf team on Sunday added to the first gold by weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz.

The individual and team golf competitions were held at the Pondok Indha Golf and Country Club in Jakarta.

With the win in golf on Sunday, the Philippines has three medals so far for golf alone – two gold medals and a bronze medal — in the Asian Games.

The Philippines had also won three bronze medals in taekwondo, two bronze medals in Pencak Silat, two bronzes in wushu, one bronze medal in cycling BMX, and another bronze in the Japanese martial arts Ju-jitsu.
