PCSO chair Corpuz resigns

(Eagle News) — Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office Chair Jose Jorge Corpuz has resigned.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque made the announcement in a statement on Friday.

According to Roque, Corpuz also resigned as members of the agency’s board of directors.

The presidential spokesperson said he cited health reasons behind his resignation.

“Mr. Corpuz, for the information of everyone, is not the person whom the President said he will fire for corruption,” Roque said.

Only recently, the PCSO came under fire after Sandra Cam, who was recently appointed to the agency, revealed what she said was a lavish year-end party conducted for PCSO employees.

She said the party costs amount to P10 million.

PCSO General Manager Alexander Balutan said party costs “only” amounted to P6 million.
