Trinoma Mall fire reaches second alarm, MRT-3 continues train operations

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) — A fire hit Trinoma Mall in Quezon City on Monday (March 13) and was immediately raised to second alarm nine minutes after it started.

Based on an initial investigation of the Tandang Sora Fire Substation officers, the fire began at 2:25 in the afternoon at an appliance warehouse beside the mall and near the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) station.

“The fire is still under investigation and around 20 fire trucks have been sent to respond,” FO1 Joan De Luna said.

Firefighters were seen wearing breathing apparatuses to extinguish the flames.

All the MRT commuters were forced to take the walkway along EDSA-North Avenue unloading area, because the entry point from the MRT station through the mall was blocked.

“Train operations today are not affected by the fire,” the MRT-3 management, however, assured the public.
