Municipal mayor, vice mayor ambushed in La Union

(Eagle News) — The mayor and vice mayor of a municipality in La Union were ambushed on Wednesday, Nov. 14.

Balaoan Mayor Aleli Concepcion and Vice Mayor Alfred Concepcion were on board their vehicles on their way to the municipal hall when they were shot at by still unidentified men in Barangay Cabuuan at 8:10 a.m.

The vice mayor and his daughter were rushed to the hospital.

Their conditions, however, are not yet known.

The ambush took place months before the 2019 elections are slated to take place.
