MANILA, Philippines (Eagle News) — KZ Tandigan on Friday, March 16 has been eliminated from China’s popular singing show “Singer 2018” after delivering five performances that wowed millions of the viewing public and took the internet audience by storm.

In her performance in Episode 9, Tandingan gave a unique rendition of the song “Royals” by Lorde which once again awed the audience.

“I never imagined I could get this far. I only wanted to stay for one show,” she said as she tearfully bade goodbye to her fellow contestants after being eliminated.

“My tears are a mix of happy tears and sad tears because I’m going to miss all of you,” she said.
Tandingan first debuted in the show last February, entering as the season’s second challenger. She sang Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” in such an unusual style that amazed the audience so much, and clinching the top rank in the process.

Tandingan is the first Filipino contestant who made it in the competition.

In her Twitter post, the singer said that she was going home “with a happy heart.”

“I close my eyes because faith is seeing for me. I did everything I could, but the results are out of our control. I’m going home tomorrow with a happy heart. This won’t be the last time the world will hear a Filipino sing her heart out. Thank You Lord! Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!” she wrote on her tweet Friday, March 16.
Although eliminated, the Filipina singer is set to return on Singer 2018 Episode 10 to perform the song “See You Again” which was released by Wiz Khalifa and co-written and co-performed with Charlie Puth.

It is said that this song will serve as KZ’s farewell song on the singing competition.

But her manager, Erickson Raymundo, hinted that there could be a “twist” that the audience would have to watch out for.

“KZ gave it her all. As you can see in the video, she was on fire and her connection with the band and the audience was solid. But by this time we’ve also learned to accept the fact that aside from the performance itself there are a lot of other factors in the competition that are beyond our control.” he wrote in a Facebook post on March 16, the same date that Tandingan was eliminated.

“Is this the end of the road for KZ in this competition? We all would just have to wait for the twist,” he said.
