MMDA postpones Feb. 23 closure of Tandang Sora flyover; sets new closure date to March 2

(Eagle News) — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has moved the closure date of the Tandang Sora flyover to March 2.

The new schedule of closure is several days later than the original date, Feb. 23.

MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia’s announcement came after the Quezon City council requested for the additional week for the local government to conduct the necessary preparations.

“Itong one week na ibinigay po ay malaking tulong para iset forth ang lahat ng preparations so we will be ensuring that the impending closure of the Tandang Sora flyover ay di gaanong kagrabe sa taong bayan,” QC Rep. Winston Castelo said.

QC Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte said the local government would put up signage in the area, hold clearing operations in alternate routes, among others, in that one week.

The closure will take place at 11 p.m. and will be in place until 2020, the MMDA said.
