In a special interview by Gladys Reyes in her NET 25 show Moments, Jaclyn Jose revealed why the jury at the Cannes Film Festival voted for her as Best Actress.

“More than a winner, I am a mother,” Jacklyn tells Gladys in the MOMENT’s teaser plug. Her revelation and experiences at the Cannes will be shown this Saturday, July 2, 7pm to 8pm on Net25 with a replay on Sunday, 2pm to 3pm.

Jaclyn Jose is the first Asian actress to win the honor in France for playing the titular character in Brillante Ma. Mendoza’s drama ‘Ma’ Rosa’, showing on July 6 in theaters. The win puts Jose alongside past winners including Juliette Binoche, Kirsten Dunst, Katherine Hepburn and Meryl Streep.

“We talked about her experiences in Cannes and what she has done for ‘Ma’Rosa’,” Gladys Reyes, producer and host of MOMENTS said. The award brought honor to the Philippine film industry because the Cannes, according to Festival President Gilles Jacob, “is the glorification of the world cinema industry.”

The last time the Philippines won in Cannes was the best director award of Mendoza for “Kinatay” in 2009.

In the Jacklyn Jose episode of MOMENTS, Gladys Reyes said that the world-class actress described her being a mother to Andie and Gwenn and being a grandmother to Ellie (Andie’s daughter).

The concept of Moments is to celebrate milestones in life. “I’ve been hosting MOMENTS for eight years now and has been co-producing it for three years,” Gladys Reyes said.

“My advocacy is to inspire and strenghten the foundation of Filipino families,” Gladys added.

Before MOMENTS, the last time both Gladys Reyes and Jaclyn Jose joined together were as major presentors of the Excellence in Visual Media Awards. (Read: Excellence in Visual Media (EVM) Awardee could be the next Oscars or Cannes Film Festival winner – Jaclyn Jose)
