April is known as cherry blossom season and the best place to see a plethora of trees in its splendor? Not in Washington D.C. but in Newark, New Jersey.

Only 40 minutes away by train from New York Penn Station, one can travel to Newark Penn Station and take the New Jersey Light Rail to Branch Brook Park, the first county park and home to the largest collection of cherry blossom trees in the nation. Every April, the park hosts different events to celebrate Cherry Blossom Festival for all families in the Essex County community.

More than 4,000 cherry trees surround the 4-mile long park which are the best to view by foot. The display of cherry blossoms are arguably the most diverse and beautiful in the New York City metropolitan area.
