“Inday” maintains its strength; monsoon rains to persist in several parts of PHL, including Metro Manila

(Eagle News)–“Inday” has maintained its strength as it prepares to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

In its 11 p.m. bulletin, PAGASA said that as of 10 p.m., the center of “Inday” was spotted 925 kilometers east northeast of Basco, Batanes.

“Inday” is packing maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour near the center, and gustiness of up to 115 kilometers per hour.

PAGASA said it was moving north northwest at 25 kilometers per hour.

Meanwhile, the low pressure area PAGASA said it was monitoring was spotted 380 kilometers west of Laoag, Ilocos Norte, still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, as of 10 p.m.

The LPA and “Inday” will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon, bringing intermittent  moderate to heavy monsoon rains over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Tarlac, and Nueva Ecija, and scattered light to moderate with occasional heavy rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon until tomorrow, Saturday, July 21.

PAGASA said sea travel remains risky over the western seaboard of northern and central Luzon due to the southwest monsoon.
