House justice panel to tackle COMELEC Chair Bautista’s impeachment next week

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — The House of Representatives committee on justice has slated the first hearing on the impeachment complaint filed against Commission on Election Chairman Andres Bautista to next Tuesday, September 19.

This is according to Oriental Mindoro Representative Reynaldo Umali, chair of the  committee.

The  complaint filed against  Bautista cites betrayal of public trust and culpable violation of the Constitution as bases for the impeachment.

These were based Patricia Bautista’s allegations  that her estranged husband had misdeclarations in his 2016 Statement of Assets and Liabilities Net worth (SALN).
