(Eagle News) — The Metro Manila Council has approved the increase in fines for illegal parking in the National Capital Region.
The fine for attended illegally parked cars was increased from P200 to P1000.
The one for unattended illegally parked cars, on the other hand, was hiked to P2,000 from the original P300,
The amount is exclusive of the cost of the towing of the vehicle.
According to the MMC, the hike in the fines was done to ensure alternative routes were cleared as authorities continued to implement a dry run of the driver-only vehicle ban on Edsa during rush hours.
