(Eagle News) — Former Senator Leticia Ramos-Shahani passed away on Monday, her family said.
In a Facebook post, her daughter Lila said she died at 2:40 a.m.
She was 87.
“Bereft and full of grief, but still strangely peaceful in the knowledge that she is now free from all suffering,” Lila said.
Shahani is the sister of former President Fidel V. Ramos.
She won as senator in the 1987 elections, and had an extensive career in the foreign service.
