QUEZON City, Philippines – Noted election lawyer, Atty. Romulo Macalintal is convinced that Senator Leila De Lima will not be removed from her post despite the serious accusations that she is facing, namely her alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade in the New Bilibid Prison.
Macalintal explained that there will be a long disqualification process in the Commission on Elections if ever the accusation was proven true. Macalintal also said that it was impossible for the so-called succession process to take effect if ever Senator De Lima was disqualified.
