(Eagle News)—President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday, Oct. 4, said he wants Army Chief Lieutenant Rolando Bautista to be the next Social Welfare Secretary.

Bautista was commander of the task group that fought against the Maute terrorists who overran Marawi in May last year and defeated them.

He is slated to retire from the military on Oct. 15, after reaching the mandatory age of retirement.

I’ll announce it, the next DSWD secretary… Rolly, Rolly Bautista. Sorry secretary,” Duterte said.
