(Eagle News) – The Los Angeles Dodgers cashed their ticket to the World Series with an explosive performance on the road at Wrigley Field.

The Dodger’s offense, lead by Enrique “Kike” Hernandez, brought a load of wood crashing and plate dancing.

In the second inning Hernandez hit a solo home run to top the Cubs 2-0.

The following inning when a loaded bases opportunity came for Hernandez, he delivered the Gram Slam, to bring the Dodger club closer to a World Series in almost 30 years.

To make history and the Dodger win sweeter, Hernandez belted another two-run home run in the ninth, to set a record for most RBI’s with seven and a total of three home runs in a championship series.

On the mound, it was Clayton Kershaw who held the Chicago Cubs to one run in six innings and allowing only three hits.

The Dodgers held on to win with a final score of (11-1).

The Dodgers await the winner of the New York Yankees and Houston Astros.

The Yankees have the opportunity to meet the Dodgers in the World Series with a win tomorrow on the road.

First, they will have to get by the Astros and ace Justin Verlander on the mound, who has already recorded a win against the Yankees this postseason.
