(Eagle News) — Two Muntinlupa courts have deferred the arraignment of Senator Leila de Lima for drug-related cases.

Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branch 206 Judge Lorna Navarro-Domingo reset the senator’s arraignment to June 22 after her camp filed a motion to quash.

The filing came after the court denied her camp’s motion for reconsideration of the court’s decision to allow the prosecution’s amendment of the information filed against De Lima—from illegal drug trading to conspiracy to commit drug trading against her.

Branch 205 Judge Amelia Fabros-Corpuz also reset the arraignment to Aug. 10 instead, pending action on De Lima’s motion for reconsideration of the court’s decision also to allow the prosecution’s amended information.

De Lima, who is detained in Camp Crame, has been accused of being involved in the illegal drug trading in the New Bilibid Prison when she was justice secretary.
