Cynthia Villar still the richest senator

Senator Cynthia Villar is still the richest member of the Senate.

Based on a copy of her Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth, as of December 31, 2017, the assets of Villar, whose family is engaged in real estate and other businesses, amount to P3,611,260,766.

This was P5.2 million more than her previous assets of P3,606,033,556.

Following Villar was Senator-boxer Manny Pacquiao, who listed assets amounting to P2,946, 315 ,029. 93.

This, however, is P126 million less than his assets in 2016, amounting to P3,072,315,030.

Senator Ralph Recto was in third place with  P627,696,651 followed by Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri with P152,094,252.

Senator Sonny Angara is in fifth place, with P131,765,860.

Senate Majority Leader Vicente Sotto III took eleventh place, with assets amounting to P64,730,400.

Senate President Koko Pimentel was in eighteenth place, with  P18,110,000.

Of the 23 senators, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV was the “poorest,” with  assets amounting to P6,871,743.64.
