(Eagle News)–Blogger Drew Olivar on Saturday, Sept. 22, apologized for his post on a possible bomb on Edsa during rallies to commemorate the 46th anniversary of the declaration of martial law in the country.
He clarified, however, that he had no intention of scaring anyone, and that he only wanted to inform people.
He admitted his post though was based only on information that circulated on social media as early as Sept. 8.
As to why he did not go to authorities first, Olivar said “kasi nakafocus rin ako sa social media, so mas inuna ko muna sila siguro na parang pag ingatin.”
“Ay nakakatakot naman magrally sa Edsa, kasi may kumakalat na baka maulit daw ‘yung pagbomba kagaya ng Plaza Miranda! Kung ako sa inyo hindi na ako pupunta!” Olivar had said in his post.
On Friday, Sept. 21, National Capital Region Police Office director Guillermo Eleazar said they would probe Olivar’s post.
Olivar and his friend Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson have only recently come under fire after a video of him making signs and making squeaking sounds was filmed and uploaded on Uson’s Facebook page.
The two have apologized but several members of the deaf community refused to accept their sorry, and instead filed a complaint against them before the Ombudsman.
