Another suspect in Batocabe slay surrenders

(Eagle News)—-Another suspect in the killing of Rep. Rodel Batocabe surrendered to authorities on Friday, Jan. 4.

Philippine National Police Chief Oscar Albayalde said Jaywin Babor, the alleged driver of the getaway motorcycle used in the murder in December last year, is now in police custody at Camp Crame.

Babor’s surrender came a day after Henry Yuson, allegedly the main gunman in the killing of Batocabe, surrendered to authorities.

Yuson had a standing warrant of arrest for rape.

With Babor’s surrender, authorities have in their  custody four of the seven suspects: Christopher Naval, Emmanuel Rosello and Yuson.

According to the authorities, all four and a witness point to Daraga, Albay Mayor Carlwyn Baldo as the mastermind in the killing.

The police have said Batocabe’s killing was politically motivated, noting that the assassination plot was hatched after the congressman declared plans to run for mayor in 2019.
