Albayalde orders dismissal of 3 cops over alleged info leak on intel gathering on ACT members

(Eagle News)–Philippine National Police Chief Oscar Albayalde has ordered the relief of three police officers from the intelligence unit for allegedly leaking information on the alleged profiling of members of the Alliance of Concerned Teachers.

In a press conference, Albayalde, without giving names, said the relieved officers came from Manila’s Station 3, Quezon City’s Station 6 and a station in Zambales.

“Kung ganong intel officer, hindi dapat nagli-leak ‘yung trabaho mo, if really may utos na ganon. You have to do your job discreetly,” Albayalde said.

According to Albayalde, in the first place, if there was indeed profiling, this was only part of “intelligence monitoring.”

He said there have been pronouncements from Communist Party of the Philippines founder Jose Maria Sison after all that these were some of the CPP’s “front organizations.”

“Kaya siguro ‘yan kinukuha ng intelligence officers, they’re profiling kung saan talaga sila affiliated,” Albayalde said.
