AFP sends military personnel to Davao City in preparation of the ASEAN Summit

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — The Armed Forces of the Philippines sent an initial force composed of 500 military personnel to augment Task Force Haribon stationed in Davao City as part of the preparation for the Association of South East Asian Nation summit to be held in the country.

The ASEAN Summit will be launched on Saturday, January 15, 2017 while the main event will be on November 2017.

The initial augmentation force is composed of personnel from the Philippine Army, the Philippine Navy and the Philippine Air Force.

The AFP said that the augmentation force may be further reinforced based on the estimation of Task Force Haribon
