Diplomatic visa holders coming from China, HK, Macau allowed entry into PHL but need to undergo 14-day quarantine — DOH

Filipinos and their foreign spouses and children also allowed entry

(Eagle News) — Filipinos and their foreign spouses or children, and holders of diplomatic visas will now be allowed into the country even if they come from China, Macau and Hong Kong.

According to the Department of Health, based on a recently revised resolution of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases, they will, however, still be subjected to the required 14-day quarantine to guard against the novel coronavirus.

“IATF-EID redefined the exemptions from travel restrictions based on thorough risk assessment of the current situation,” the DOH said.

Earlier, the Bureau of Immigration said Overseas Filipino Workers in Hong Kong and Macau were exempted from the outbound travel ban to those places.

The BI added student and residence visa holders in those two countries were also exempted from the outbound travel ban.

The travel ban so far still includes tourists from and to China, Hong Kong and Macau.
