(Eagle News)–Students and teachers at the Philippine Normal University were forced to evacuate to the university quadrangle on Thursday, Oct. 10, after a bomb threat was sent via text message to a faculty member.
They went back to their classes, however, after the Manila Police District’s Explosives and Ordnance unit ruled there was no truth to the message, Dr. Bert Tuga, vice president for finance and management, told the school’s news organ, The Torch Publications.
The message had said there were bombs that could go off anytime inside the university.
The authorities cleared the building of any explosives at 11:14 a.m.
