Election day constitutionally fixed – Pimentel

According to Senator Koko Pimentel, Chairman of the Joint Congressional Committee on the Automated Elections, the day of the election is constitutionally fixed and that the Congress can not meddle with said principle.

Pimentel added that although the election can be re-scheduled in some places due to unexpected and significant events, the date of the election for the whole country cannot be re-scheduled.
