Detained De Lima attends least number of sessions; Trillanes attends second-least number
(Eagle News) –Senators Juan Miguel Zubiri, Ping Lacson, now-Senate President Tito Sotto and his predecessor Koko Pimentel registered a perfect attendance during the 2nd regular session of the 17th Congress.
The four senators attended all 79 sessions of the Senate, according to Senate records.
Sotto, Pimentel, and Lacson were never late in any session.
Zubiri, on the other hand, was late once because he was on official mission.
Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon, Senators Nancy Binay, Gregorio Honasan II and Risa Hontiveros had one absence each.
This was because Drilon and Binay had an official mission abroad, while Honasan was on an official mission in the country.
Based on records, Senators Cynthia Villar and Joel Villanueva attended 77 sessions; Senator Grace Poe, 76; Senator Sherwin Gatchalian, 74; Senator Richard Gordon, 73; Senator Joseph Victor Ejercito, 71; Senator Loren Legarda, 70; Pro-Tempore Ralph Recto, 69; Senator Paolo Benigno Aquino, 68; Senator Juan Edgardo Angara, 67; Senator Francis Escudero, 66; Senator Francis Pangilinan, 65; Senator Manny Pacquiao, 64.
Senator Antonio Trillanes IV attended the second-least number of sessions, with 52.
He was on official mission 23 times, 20 of which were abroad.
He also had four absences.
The senator with the least number of sessions attended was Leila de Lima, who is detained on drug-related cases.
