Couple wounded in grenade blasts in North Cotabato

M’LANG, North Cotabato (Eagle News) – A couple were wounded in two grenade explosions in North Cotabato on Sunday night, April 1.

The victims were identified as Nestor Lambid Nuñez, 58, and his wife Jovy, 54, both residents of Purok 2, Barangay Nueva Bida.

According to Supt. Bernard Tayong, spokesperson of the Cotabato Police Provincial Office,  the couple were eating  dinner when the blasts hit the front of their home around 7 p.m.

They were immediately rushed to the M’lang District Hospital, where they are now recuperating.

Two grenade levers were found in the area.

One Ronnie Rabor, a neighbor of the couple,  is considered a person of interest based on the statements of the victims.

Authorities are considering land dispute as a motive.
